This is a view of the Southampton parish shoreline. At the top of the picture the island curves north towards Somerset parish and the Royal Naval Dockyard. The shallow inland waters at the island's western end are a prime area for fishermen who may hook a bonefish, barracuda, pompano, and, every now and then, a tarpon on the sandy-bottomed flats.
