At the time of Rick's visit to the Wolf Station mission there were only two patient beds in the clinic proper. That is because rural Mozambicans are loathe to overnight in an enclosed concrete structure. To put their long-term patients at ease, the medical mission team built a series of dwellings--mud brick huts with straw roofs--on the mission compound to house patients requiring more than outpatient care.
