The Knoetze family live in a tent-cum-hut with their two young daughters. However, Brother Knoetze has constructed a mud brick, thatched roof hut to accommodate visitors to their station, including MAF pilots. To experience a night's sleep in a proper bed while on a flying mission is as pleasant as it is rare. Most times a mosquito net-covered cot in a corner is par for the course when an MAF pilot overnights away from base.
