Rick snapped this photograph as C-GWOL cleared 1,000' altitude departing runway 29 at the Three Hills regional airport. On this flight Rick was acting as co-flight evaluator for an MAFC pilot candidate. The evaluation procedure for pilots wishing to join MAF is rigorous. Over the course of 3-4 days the pilot candidate undergoes dozens of specific flight tests intended to provie his or her capability and adaptability as a pilot in the face of hazardous flight conditions.
