Toshi Takamura was one of the many young pilot trainees Rick encouraged and mentored during his time with Mission Aviation Fellowship of Canada. Like Rick, Toshi came to Canada to study commercial aviation. While attending a Japanese-Canadian church in Edmonton, Alberta, he accepted Christ as his Saviour, and soon thereafter turned his thought towards mission aviation. That's when Rick became involved in Toshi's life. After many meetings together and many months, Toshi took the step of Believer's baptism. Rick and Mary were privileged to be present when Toshi made his public confession of faith.
